About Me

I am a neuroscientist who studies the mechanisms underlying behaviour in animals, from insects to fish. In particular, in the past few years I have focused on learning and memory, and how animals can learn associations between stimuli and reinforcements, from the simplest to the most complex form of association. I am passionate about understanding how animal behaviour is shaped by the environment and am particularly curious to understand how different forms of stressors can affect it. My research relies on a multidisciplinary approach that combines behavioural experiments, molecular biology and imaging techniques to explore the pathways involved and how the environment can influence them.

Here at Eawag, I am investigating the effects of chemicals on the behaviour of zebrafish, using the larvae as a model organism.

Projects

The surfacing behavior of zebrafish larvae induced by neuroactive chemicals will be investigated on a behavioral, molecular and neuronal basis.
