Respiratory viruses in wastewater
Eawag is monitoring the amount of excreted respiratory viruses in the wastewater at several wastewater treatment plants. The data allow conclusions to be drawn about the viral load in the population. The Dashboard shows the current situation in Switzerland.
Eawag analyses drugs, medicinal products, alcohol and tobacco residues in wastewater. Monitoring these substances in wastewater makes it possible to estimate their consumption by the population in terms of time and space.
The Aquascope underwater microscope has been photographing the plankton living in Lake Greifen since spring 2018. The live images can be viewed on the Aquascope platform.
Alplakes provides current measurement data and forecasts for selected European lakes. The data is based on a combination of remote sensing and hydrodynamic modelling.
Eawag provides global and regional hazard maps of groundwater contamination by arsenic, fluoride and other pollutants online and free of charge. The platform enables users to visualise their own data and create risk maps using the Eawag model.
Eawag provides a growing amount of its research data, including descriptions, images and software, on the Eawag Research Data Institutional Repository (ERIC). In doing so, it supports “open science”, an important development in science - open access to research results.
