VSA Platform for Water Quality

In collaboration with the Swiss Water Association (VSA) and the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Eawag operates the knowledge and exchange platform for Water Quality within the Department of Environmental Chemistry at its Dübendorf site.

The VSA Platform for Water Quality (in German) addresses the challenges in assessing the water quality in surface waters in the areas of micropollutants and biology. Together with the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN, the platform has also been managing the Modular Stepwise Procedure (MSK) since 2018, which provides methods for investigating and assessing surface waters in Switzerland. The role of the Platform is to bring the major stakeholders together, compile a body of specialist knowledge, and ensure that knowledge-sharing takes place between research and industry as well as the relevant government bodies.
