About Me
I am an evolutionary ecologist and herpetologist who focuses on adaptation by scaling up from molecular genetic data to intraspecific trait variation in morphology, dispersal ability, and metabolism. Range shifts are a signature of human impacts on populations – either through the introduction of invasive species to new locations, or altered range limits due to climate change. As populations colonize new habitats, they must adapt to novel environments to persist, and this can result in rapid divergence from source populations via drift and natural selection. Different types of range shifts provide ‘natural experiments’ to study the eco-evolutionary impacts of novel environments on populations. I am interested in using these natural experiments to explore evolutionary adaptations.
