About Me

Scientist, dPCR Assay Development for Wastewater-based Epidemiology

Wastewater is a vessel in which we can extract a wealth of public health data. My current interest lies in understanding the current high-priority diseases and the extent to which we can monitor them in wastewater. I, together with the wastewater monitoring at laboratory here at Eawag, design dPCR assays to target priority pathogens such as measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), poliovirus, and antimicrobial resistance genes.

Education

MSc. in Environmental Engineering (EPFL)
BSc. in Environmental Engineering (Georgia Institute of Technology)

Trained as an environmental engineer, I am process-oriented and detail-focused. And without an education in viral genetics or molecular biology, I am constantly learning to be a better scientist, a better researcher, and a better communicator in a field distant from my own.
