About Me

My research interests lie at the intersect between the fields of environmental and ecological economics, including monetary and non-monetary environmental valuation methods, plural valuation of nature, participatory scenario development processes, GIS mapping of ecosystem services and natural hazard protection measures. I am also interested in the sustainable management of water-forest ecosystems, climate change, natural hazards, and their impacts on the socio-ecological systems.
Drawing on my interdisciplinary background, my PhD thesis investigates how to conceptually and methodologically assess and integrate plural values attributed to Nature’s Contributions to People. Further, I explore the role socio-cultural context plays in environmental valuation, its impact on cost-benefit analysis and consequently on decision-making.
