About Me

Shreya is a postdoctoral researcher in the Process Engineering department at EAWAG, working in the group of Prof. Eberhard Morgenroth. Her research focuses on improving pathogen monitoring to enhance assessment and implementation of onsite non-potable water systems (ONWS). The work is part of the Water Reuse Lab project, which aims to identify the key success factors for developing the next generation of ONWSs, with an initial focus on Bengaluru, India.

Shreya holds an MSc degree from TU Delft in Civil Engineering and Geosciences, where her research on Iron Electrocoagulation to remove enteric pathogens and antibiotic-resistant bacteria from municipal effluent won her the Gijs Oskam prize. In 2024, she completed her PhD at TU Delft on slow sand filters, revealing new insights into processes for producing microbiologically safe and biostable drinking water.
