About Me
I am a PhD student in the Cluster “Sustainable Transitions and Business Innovations” (Cirus) at the Department of Environmental Social Sciences at Eawag and in the Economic Geography Group at the University of Zurich. Before joining Cirus, I was a research assistant in the Policy Analysis and Environmental Governance group (PEGO) at the University of Bern. I also hold a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Bern.
At Cirus, I am part of the MULTITRANS project, where I investigate sustainability transitions in the urban mobility sector. My research focuses on public innovation processes in urban mobility. In particular, I aim to understand how cities develop integrative approaches for sustainable urban mobility, how these approaches get constructed as ‘global templates’ and then diffuse horizontally and vertically, and what roles different actor (networks) and institutional structures play in these processes. With my thesis, I explore these dynamics for a sample of European cities, combining insights from political science, economic geography and transition studies. I’m employing a mixed-methods research design, combining qualitative case studies with a wide range of quantitative and computational methods, such as text analysis and in particular descriptive and inferential network analysis.
