SeeWandel-Climate: Modelling the consequences of climate change and neobiota for Lake Constance

It is expected that the ecosystem of Lake Constance will change significantly in the coming decades due to the interactions between progressive global warming and invasive species, such as the further spread of the quagga mussel.
The project “SeeWandel-Climate: Modelling the consequences of climate change and neobiota for Lake Constance” aims to develop projections to estimate the consequences of climate change and the impact of invasive species on the Lake Constance ecosystem and its sustainable use. To this end, practical simulation models are being developed that forecast the changing biology and ecology of Lake Constance for the coming decades.
Project duration: July 2023 – December 2027
