Leighton King has successfully defended her PhD thesis "Lessons from the past: Exploring invertebrate assemblages of Lake Victoria over decadal to millennial timescales to unravel anthropogenic impacts" on 3rd June 2024. Congratulations!

Leighton King has contributed to the goals of the Sinergia project "Digging deep into Lake Victoria's past" by intensively studying the remains of plankton and other organisms in sediment cores. Her publication "Antropogenic Eutrophication drives major food web changes in Mwanza Gulf, Lake Victoria" has been published in the Ecosystems journal.
