“Datalakes” makes data on physical, biological and chemical measurements of surface waters publicly and freely available. The platform’s computers continuously record and store data collected by sensors in situ, meteorological stations, satellites and other methods. It has an online interface that processes and visualises the data in real time. The software also models different scenarios and provides user-friendly extraction of data and products. “Datalakes” is a joint project of Eawag, the Swiss Data Science Centre (SDSC), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the Alpine Research Centre for Trophic Networks and Limnic Ecosystems (CARRTEL) in Thonon-les-Bains (France).

Data available in “Datalakes” include a) in-situ marine measurements, b) data from meteorological sensors, c) satellite remote sensing data and d) hydrological data. (Source: https://datascience.ch)
