Agriculture
Agriculture is one of the dominant land uses in many countries, with substantial amounts of nutrients and agrochemicals applied to the land. During rainfall events, these chemicalstypo3/ can enter the surface water or groundwater, directly affecting the water quality of a major proportion of that region.
Our aim is to determine and quantify the processes influencing the input, distribution and fate of agrochemicals. Our main focus is currently on the analysis of pesticides (herbicides, fungicides and insecticides), using the insights gained to propose measures to reduce chemical water pollution.
