Utox members enjoy an exciting week at SETAC Europe in Dublin

June 1, 2023 | Marissa Kosnik

Utox was well-represented by 11 PhD students, postdocs, and group leaders at SETAC Europe in Dublin!

Under the conference topic of Data-driven environmental decision-making, Utox co-organized four sessions related to advances in bioaccumulation science, new approach methods/animal alternatives for ecotoxicology, and the European Green Deal, and co-chaired two topical discussions on new approach methodologies in environmental protection and updating polymer regulation. Utox members gave 14 total platform and poster presentations covering diverse topics, including building datasets for machine learning in ecotoxicology, targeted phosphoproteomics and mTOR dynamics, and time-resolved acute toxicity testing with fish cells under flow conditions.

Attendees also took advantage of time in Dublin, enjoying Irish food, visits to the Guinness storehouse and distilleries, and road trips around Ireland. Looking forward to another successful SETAC meeting next year in Seville!
