June 29, 2022The 51-year-old succeeds Janet Hering, who is reaching retirement age. Martin Ackermann is group leader at Eawag and Professor of the Ecology of Microbial Systems at the ETH Zurich. He will take up his new post on 01 January 2023.

June 24, 2022Professor Peter Reichert’s 37 years of research at Eawag were characterised by his mathematical view of water and bodies of water, combined with his interest in environmental practice. May 19, 2022The ETH Board has appointed Nathalie Dubois as adjunct professor as of 1 June 2022. The palaeolimnologist has headed the Eawag sedimentology research group in the Surface Waters Department since 2013 and has been teaching at the ETH Zurich since 2014.

May 9, 2022Oliver Schilling is newly appointed Professor of Hydrogeology at the University of Basel, where he is setting up a research group that is also associated with the Eawag Water Resources and Drinking Water Department in Dübendorf. This dual affiliation is perfect, says Schilling.

April 7, 2022With the support of Eawag, experts from the VSA platform "Process Engineering for Micropollutants" investigated the inputs of substances from industry and commerce into waterbodies. The nationwide analysis shows that treated wastewater from businesses also contains micropollutants that enter waterbodies.
