Abwasser

Wir befassen uns mit der Entwicklung, Dimensionierung und Optimierung von neuen und bestehenden Prozessen bei der zentralen und dezentralen Abwasserbehandlung sowie der Wasser- und Nährstoffwiederverwendung. Unser Ziel ist es mit unserem ingenieurtechnischen Wissen ganzheitliche und nachhaltige Konzepte für den Umgang mit Abwasser zu schaffen. Modellierungen helfen uns Zusammenhänge besser zu verstehen und Aussagen über die Wirkung von Massnahmen auf ein System zu machen. Um die Gewässerbelastung durch Mikroverunreinigungen zu reduzieren untersuchen wir Verfahren mit denen diese Stoffe in kommunalen Kläranlagen eliminiert werden können.

ATHENE - Grundlagen zur biologischen Elimination von Mikroverunreinigungen - Entwicklung von neuen technischen Lösungen für die Abwasserbehandlung für den biologischen Abbau von Mikroverunreinigungen durch das Verständnis von enzymatischen Wegen und der Beurteilung der Entgiftung. Ein EU ERC Advanced Grant.

Reinvent the Toilet Challenge (RTTC) - Für weniger als fünf Rappen pro Tag und Person soll das neue Toilettenmodell eine menschenwürdige, hygienische, umweltfreundliche und auch wirtschaftlich interessante Sanitärversorgung sicherstellen. Ein von der Bill & Melinda Gates Stiftung finanziertes Projekt („Reinvent the Toilet Challenge“) in Partnerschaft mit dem Designstudio EOOS und der Makerere Universität in Uganda.

  • Reaktive Tracer - Nutzung von reaktiven Tracern zur Validierung von 2 und 3 dimensionalen Strömungsmodellen (CFD) in der Wasseraufbereitung und Abwasserreinigung.
  • Strategie Micropoll - Massenflussanalyse, Modellstudie Schweiz, Ozonung Regensdorf, Pulveraktivkohle.
  • Aktivkohle - Aktivkohledosierung in den Zulauf zur Sandfiltration Kläranlage Kloten/Opfikon.
  • HydroNET - Flotation statt Sedimentation in der Vor- und Nachklärung - Modulanlagen für kleine und mittlere Kläranlagen.
  • Wärmerückgewinnung aus Abwasser - Die höhere Temperatur des Abwassers (im Vergleich zur Umgebungstemperatur) macht das Abwasser zu einer wertvollen Energiequelle.
  • Ozonung ARA Neugut, Dübendorf – Überwachung und Regelung der Ozonung zur Spurenstoffelimination mittels UV Absorbanzmessung.
  • Produktion eines Düngers aus Abwasser - Recycling von Stickstoff und Phosphor in der ARA Kloten/Opfikon über eine Kombination von Luftstripping und Urinbehandlung.
  • Nitrit - Nitritdynamik und Belüftungsregelung in Nährstoffeliminationsanalgen mit ionenselektiven Sensoren.

Software

ASIM - (Activated Sludge SIMulation Program) ist eine Software, die erlaubt unterschiedlichste biologische Abwasserreinigungssysteme zu simulieren: Belebtschlammsysteme mit bis zu 12 Reaktoren in Serie (aerob, anoxisch, anaerob) mit unterschiedlichen Rezirkulationen und Regelkreisen, alternierend, intermittierend, Rührkessel, SBR und Chargenbetrieb.

TEMPEST - ist ein interaktives Simulationsprogramm zur Berechnung des Temperaturverlaufes und der -dynamik im Kanalisationssystem. Der Anwendungsbereich erstreckt sich von der einfachen Schätzung der stationären Änderung der Abwassertemperatur in einzelnen Haltungen bis zur Simulation von in Serie geschalteter Stränge mit seitlichen Zuflüssen
