Abstract

SCNAT raises awareness of the natural sciences as a central pillar of cultural and economic development. Due to its wide network it is a representative partner for politics. SCNAT connects the natural sciences, provides expertise, promotes dialogue between science and society, identifies and evaluates scientific developments and strengthens the next generation of natural scientists. It is part of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences.

In our presentation we will highlight our four main fields of activity:

  • Strengthening scientific communities and the exchange across scientific disciplines
  • Promoting early career academics
  • Supporting policy-making, administration and business with expert knowledge
  • Engaging with the broader public

For each field we present current examples including how we collaborate with scientists and stakeholders from different fields and institutions in Switzerland.
