Über mich

The central theme to my research interests is understanding biogeochemical cycling across wide spatial and temporal scales. My research focuses on trace elements, which can act as both nutrient and toxins at concentrations found in natural environments. By analyzing metal distributions, speciation, and stable isotope composition, I aim to constrain:

  • The fate and transport of trace elements
  • Their sources and sinks in aquatic systems
  • Their impact on biological communities
  • What information trace elements and their isotopes may yield through roles as potential paleoproxies
  • Qualitative and quantitative coupled biogeochemical cycling of trace and major elements (e.g. C, N, P, O)
